Youth in Motion
Aloha! We are in the process of reorganizing Youth in Motion. We also go by Na Kama ‘Onipa’a, a name given by a respected kupuna (elder) on our island of Molokai.
Our website is still in draft mode and we will be working on this for 2024
Most importantly we are about our youth here on Molokai.
Programs we are currently offering:
- Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a
- Muay Thai Boxing
- Body Boarding
- Fundraising for the Molokai Highschool Football Team
Through the Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a we have donated to the following organizations:
Maui Sports Foundation to help the youth affected by the Lahaina Fire
Special Olympics Molokai
Molokai High School Athletics
Molokai High School Clubs
Molokai Middle School
Sustainable Molokai
Young Life Molokai
We are youth in motion
Youth in Motion is a 501c-3-tax exempt, non-profit organization established on the island of Molokai, to assist youth on Molokai.
Youth in Motion was established in 1997 with emphasis being placed on after-school and intersession with windsurfing & kayaking instructions. Youth in Motion’s Ocean and Sailing program was attempted a few years back, but with a key volunteer departing Molokai, the program was put on hold.
Clare Seeger Albino runs the program by giving hands on learning and leadership training through the ocean. Clare has been serving the Youth on Molokai with windsurfing, kayaking, learn to swim programs, basic water safety programs, and organizing an annual festival (A celebration of Youth Opportunities-2003-2006) from 1999-2006. Clare took a rest from volunteer work from September 2007-March 2010, in order to pursue her education and reevaluate the programs and events of Youth in Motion. Clare currently teaches at Molokai High School.
Since 2010 Youth In Motion on Stand Up Paddling since this is one of the easiest ocean sports to learn while keeping healthy with exercise. Unfortunately our gear is old and not safe to use for the kids. However the future is unlimited with many different ideas that work with the mission statement so that Youth can be empowered with their dreams. Youth In Motion is not just about the ocean, it is everything to do with motion.
Currently our focus is on the Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a
Our Youth
The Community
Currently we are using the Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a as our community event to kick off and or end the year with what we do. This is a celebration of our youth.
We are looking at fundraising for our Keiki and Makua Races and fund all youth in the Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a. If you care to donate to Molokai Holokai Youth, we would appreciate this
The Ocean
We are water babies but we have land options as well
The Youth
From starting with windsurfing to Stand Up Paddling, we now have Muay Thai Boxing and Body boarding

What are our Goals?
We are based on pure volunteerism. No one gets paid and any dollars we have go straight back to the kids programs
We do have goals for the future, including expanding what we do, creating year-long programs, and using the Molokai Holokai Ho’olaule’a as our kickoff and finale each year as we did in the early years with Na Opio Hana Pa’a ( A Celebration of Youth Opportunities)

YIM wants to work with local youth organizations in searching for additional creative fundraising avenues that not only can raise funds for the organizations, but help search for creative avenues to spread the mission of the organization. YIM would also like to find additional creative fundraising ideas that can help with any youth in the community that has a drive and a passion to follow a dream that is healthy and productive.
